Beer and Toast, a Match Made in Heaven

On November 4th, 7 pm – 10 pm Pretty F*cking Good Toast will join We Brought Beer for an evening of toast and beer pairings. Hosted at their Clapham Junction location:  78 St. Johns Hill, Battersea, SW11 1SP.

Orbit Leaf: German style Rauch Alt 6.2% ABV

Brewed using beechwood smoked malt to produce a double altbier, this is strong, dark and smokey.  It will be matched with Half-rye sour dough, rabbit confit, 100% Peru Pichanaki Chocolate, Red Cow Parmesan (D.O.P.) shavings, and micro herbs.


Anchor Big Leaf Maple: American Red Ale 6% ABV

This beer is named after the trees that line the rivers around California, Bigleaf maple trees. Not only is it named after these trees, it is brewed using age-old techniques with the syrup that is sugared from them. The liberal dry-hopping gives this a big, hoppy hit on the nose that melds wonderfully with the flavour.  The backbone is rich and sweet.  It will be matched with half-rye sour dough, green asparagus, Marmite, melted Lincolnshire Poacher (Neal’s Yard Dairy), and rose petals.


Wild Beer Co. Shnoodlepip: Sour saison 6.5% ABV

This beer is a three way collaboration with Burning Sky and Good George. Spelt gives the beer a bigger, fuller, body. A combination of saison and brett yeast is used, whilst pink peppercorns accentuate the spiciness. Passion fruit brings an incredible tropical character with a tangy finish from hibiscus flowers. It will be matched with half-rye sour dough, pastrami, caramelised onion, melted Cornish Yarg (Neal’s Yard Dairy), and steamed marsh samphire.


Sambrooks Imperial Russian Stout 10.4% ABV

Brewed at local Battersea brewery Sambrooks, this imperial Russian stout packs an almighty punch. Rich & full bodied, expect strong coffee & chocolate flavours complemented by a warming sweetness from the alcohol. It will be matched with half-rye sour dough, smashed avocado, English black truffle, Old Ford Goat’s cheese (Neal’s Yard Dairy).
